Dr Andrew Higgins


Dr Andrew Higgins BVetMed MSc PhD FIBiol MRCVS was Scientific Director and Chief Executive of the Animal Health Trust, Newmarket, from 1988-1999. He has been Editor-in-Chief of The Veterinary Journal since 1991 and has served on many national and international regulatory committees.

For many years he was Honorary Scientific Adviser to the Fédération Equestre International (FEI) and is a member of the  FEI Veterinary Committee. He is chairman of the Retired Greyhound Trust and he is a consultant to World Horse Welfare. For 10 years he was a trustee of Dogs Trust  He is joint editor of the veterinary textbook The Equine Manual. He is currently Chairman of Strata Technology Limited.
