Andrew Parker Bowles

Brigadier Andrew Parker Bowles was Vice-Chairman of the Animals in War Memorial Fund. Between 1960 and 1995 he was Commander Household Cavalry and Silver Stick, and finally Director, Royal Army Veterinary Corps. He was awarded The Queen’s Commendation for Bravery in Rhodesia in 1980 and the OBE (Military) in 1982.

He received his Army sporting colours for athletics, polo, and The Cresta. He rode in and completed the Grand National in 1969.

He is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Veterinary College, an Honorary Associate of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, and an Honorary Member of the British Veterinary Association. He founded and was the first Chairman of Retraining of Racehorses (ROR), a charity for giving ex-racehorses a second career. He is a non-executive director of five companies and is involved in three charities.
